Wat Huay Mongkol is home to the largest statue of the immensely popular Buddhist monk Luang Pu Thuad. The statue, which is about 12 meters high and 10 meters wide, is set on a large mound.

Wat Huay Mongkol is located about 18 kilometres west of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, which can be reached from Highway 4 along route 3218. Stay on 3218 Road all the way to Wat Huay Mongkol, going straight ahead the road becomes the 3219. This road leads to Ban Huay Mongkol and Wat Huay Mongkol. The drive itself to Huay Mongkol is nice, through the local countryside and pineapple plantations.
