Khao Hin Lek Fai is well known as “Flintstone Hill”, the hill is located approximately 3 kilometres west of the town and is the best viewpoint in Hua Hin. On Khao Hin Lek Fai provides a panoramic view of Hua Hin town, beach, the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course and the Gulf of Thailand.
There are 3-4 lookout spots and it’s a popular location with locals, especially at sundown which is arguably the best time to go. There are a few stalls selling food and drink and a bird centre that never seems to have many birds aside from the peacocks roaming around. Khao Hin Lek Fai is situated about 3km west of the town centre.
Follow Chomsin Road over the railway line and instead of bearing right with the road to Pala U, keep going straight ahead. Khao Hin Lek Fai is about 3km west of Hua Hin town. There are a small park and bird conservatory on the hilltop, with trails leading to six viewpoints. THE ROAD UP TO KHAO HIN LEK FAI IS STEEP BUT MANAGEABLE IF YOU DRIVE A CAR. ONCE YOU GET TO THE TOP, THE ROAD LEVELS OUT AND THE GROUND BECOMES RELATIVELY FLAT. Khao Hin Lek Fai Viewpoints is at 160 metres above sea level, Khao Hin Lek Fai viewpoints afford unrivalled panoramas of Hua Hin and surrounding areas in every direction. The second viewpoint is pretty much an empty stone garden.
For the best view is the fifth viewpoint and you can see a sweeping vista of the ocean, Hua Hin Fishing Pier, Hua Hin Beach and all the way to Khao Takiab. Khao Hin Lek Fai is particularly busy at sunset. You can also arrive before sunrise and catch a glimpse of the first rays over Hua Hin town.
